Perforated Metal Sunshade

The Fort York, Toronto Public Library sits on the shoreline of Lake Ontario with large open windows overlooking the lake and the Fort York archeological heritage site. To provide light control and help reduce glare while maximizing views, KPMB designed custom perforated sunshade fins that stretch across the curtain wall. The pattern on the fins is a graphic pattern is designed by Illustrator Charles Pachter and manufactured using AMICO’s proprietary Picture PERFect process that converts images into perforated hole patterns.
