Blending Architectural Signage with Expanded Mesh Facade Materials

Expanded Mesh Signage

Integrating signage elements with materials commonly found in facades presents a valuable opportunity to develop impactful messaging and design elements, while avoiding the use of typical signage materials that may appear cheap.

Layered Expanded Mesh Signage

Architects typically specify expanded mesh for its texture, and this design element can play into your signage design and act as a point of contrast. This sign for River of Life Church takes this negative space approach and blends the facade with the branding element.

A second way to use expanded mesh in graphic communications is to layer mesh panels on top of each other, where a base layer is one color and the top layer is a different (contrasting) color. This construction method provides the ability to seamlessly transition from a facade into a message or even just a design element in the facade with a color transition.
